Elmer Gilles's shipmates have decided that he would make the best captain, though Alejandro Gilles is hurt by the decision. The Anglicist, under command of Capt. Elmer Gilles, has left the harbor at Gordonville, Death Isle. The Anglicist is heading E at half-speed. Nevile Prasun's mother Cariotta Prasun married Prentiss Prasun in Willow, Death Isle. As an act of mutiny, Alejandro Gilles is going to attempt to murder Capt. Elmer Gilles, whose decision-making aboard the Anglicist has been seen by some passengers as reckless and potentially life-endangering. Alejandro Gilles attempted to murder Capt. Elmer Gilles as an act of mutiny, but failed. A punishment is now being decided for Alejandro Gilles and his two conspirators in the failed mutiny attempt, Nevile Prasun and Bryn Prasun. Since there are no nearby uninhabited islands on which the conspirators could be marooned, they will be hanged aboard the ship. Nevile Prasun was hanged aboard the Anglicist as capital punishment for the attempted murder of Capt. Elmer Gilles; he was 19 years old.
