Subject: Prof. Huang’s family

 Finally I reached Prof. Huang’s daughter in the US.
 Also, I called Prof. Huang’s wife, retired Prof. 
 Zhang, in China. The family is in a very sad 
 situation:
 
 1. USTC does not take responsibility for Prof. Huang’s 
 passing away. No meaningful financial compensation.
 
 2. The family is hiring a lawyer. We can imaging the 
 cost;
 
 3. Prof. Zhang has been semi-bed-confined for years, 
 the situation worsened quickly by the tragedy. She 
 needs around-clock care, but her pension cannot afford 
 it (plus many other expense);
 
 4. A plan to publish Prof. Huang’s book for his 
 research achievements was stopped.
 
 I think the fund should be used at the most needed 
 place, according to the family’s wish:
 
 1. The family financial need;
 
 2. Publishing Prof. Huang’s book.
