Thank you for your kindness and it is nice to get contact with you
 again.

I suppose I may have vanished for a while, a long while. In 1988 we
 moved
to a small town in Western New South Walse called Parkes and lost
 contact
with all your good people. But believe me, I have been thinking of you
 and
I know most of you are either in the USA all Canada.

Just briefly, we lived in Parkes for 3 years, 1988 to 1991, and then
 moved
to Melbourne to live there for one year. Since 1992 we have been in
 Perth.
For all that period I have been working for a mining company called
 North
Limited and involved in exploration, evaluation, and general R&D of Sn,
 Cu,
Au, and Pb-Zn type of minerals. You see I am a lazy guy and haven't
bothered to change my profession yet. Anyway, life has been a lot of up
 and
downs. Since 1993 I have been travelling a lot through China, mainly to
visit mineral deposits. Last year I have been in Hefei and there I heard
Shao-meng had been there in 1996 (please say hello to him if you are
 going
to contact him). I met a lot of our teachers and particularly Mr Yang
 and
Mr Lu. Mr Yang is working in the logistic division of the university now
and is doing well. You may remember Tao Xian-Gang, he is still in the
university. He was on a short term post in a county, I was lucky to meet
him as he was home for a few days. Luo Guo-Bao is working in the Soil
Science Institute in Nanjing and he was very kind to come to Hefei to
 see
us. I also met Ye Chang-Yin in Huangshan. He is now the deputy
 commissioner
of the science and technology commission of Huangshan City.

The western district of the university is developed and the university
 is
much larger than when we were there. Mr Yang sincerely suggested that we
have a 777 reunion in the university. Unfortunately, we can not do that
 to
coincide with the 40th birthday of the university.

I have to go now but tell me how you are going. How is life?
