Banana Slug Genomics


We will assemble and annotate the banana slug genome (Ariolimax dolichophallus) from next-generation sequencing reads. We will explore the capabilities of the latest next-generation bioinformatics tools and write our own as needed.

Prereqs: BME 205 or (BME 110 and a computer programming class)

This course is an elective bioinformatics class suitable for graduate students and motivated bioinformatics seniors.
