Autonomous Ping-Pong Shooting Robot

The first robotics project I worked on was for the mechatronics class at UCSC, in which we had to build a robot to navigate a small field, and shoot ping pong balls at other robots. What made my team’s robot unique compared to other teams was its ability to shoot and navigate at the same time.

  • Programmed the firmware for the on-board PIC32
  • Designed the hierarchical state machines for simultaneous autonomous navigation and aiming functionality.
  • Designed the mechanical structure of the robot.

Successfully defeated the opponent robot and completed all the required tasks at the end of the quarter competition.
