Interactive Systems for Individuals with Special Needs

I'm a recent computer science PhD graduate from UCSC who has a strong passion for writing code and helping people. As an experienced front end developer and HCI/UX researcher, I am actively looking for career opportunities to continue to design, develop, evaluate, and improve technology and software for social good. I'm tremendously excited to join a team tackling challenging technical problems and developing innovative solutions.

My career interest involves developing technologies to aid people and our society; whether through empowering individuals through personalized health and well-being apps, designing innovative solutions to help people and organizations achieve financial independence, or developing space exploration systems to unite and inspire us to reach beyond the stars.

For my PhD dissertation, I designed and developed a Web-based, context-sensitive cognitive assessment system for older adults to self-monitor their cognitive health and well-being in natural settings. This full stack project emphasized accessibility and utilized HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript/jQuery/JSON/D3/Firebase to deliver a fully functional prototype that was evaluated through usability testing with older adults and healthcare professionals. I led and managed a team of undergraduate researchers who engaged in HCI and UX research methodologies. Through the design, development, and evaluation of this system with users, my passion for writing code to help people continues to grow.
