I'm currently in my last quarter in the Master's program at UC Santa Cruz. I'm working in Professor Flanagan's Programming Languages Lab doing my thesis on a language developed at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, exploring it as a proof of concept for scripting through Excel.
I received my undergraduate degree also at UC Santa Cruz in the field of computer science. I've been involved in organizations such as the Society of Women Engineers and Project Awesome: Women in Computing, and am passionate about encouraging more women to join areas of engineering.
Despite being so computer oriented, I do enjoy getting time outside to explore nature.
I have very little time for it while in school and at work, but reading is one of my favorite pastimes.
Whether it's ballet, jazz, or just goofy dancing around my room, moving to some music always helps me relax.
I've been exploring hobbies I can take up after I finish school, and I think DIY projects would be quite fun.
