Mon Jan 7 17:18:14 PST 2013 Kevin Karplus This directory contains the design for breakout board for the Freescale Semiconductor MPX2053DP pressure sensor used in the pressure sensor lab for Applied Circuits Winter 2013. The pressure sensors are lab equipment (not sold to the students) and should not need to be replaced for several years. MPX2053DP-breakout-v1.brd and MPX2053DP-breakout-v1.sch are the board and schematic project files for Eagle. Everything else derives from them. The 5by5_Green_1.6mm_MPX2053_10pcs.zip contains all the Gerber files output by Eagle, and is the file sent to the PCB house (ITEADstudio). The Gerber files are also available separately. Sat Jun 14 11:07:51 PDT 2014 Kevin Karplus The MPX2053DP has been discontinued, but other parts by Freescale use the same package. The MPX2050DP is a slightly better replacement. If I were to redesign the board, I would probably shape the upper corners not to protrude past the pressure sensor. For new designs that weren't intended for teaching about instrumentation amps, I'd probably spend the extra $4 to get an integrated amplifier in the sensor, like the MPX5050DP.
