The group about to board the Anticontagion has decided that, rather than Thatcher Noland naming himself captain outright, the passengers will decide who their captain will be democratically. Thatcher Noland's shipmates have decided that he would make the best captain. As the only person embarking the Anticontagion, which will depart Boston shortly, Thatcher Noland will naturally serve as its captain; he has never captained a ship before. Capt. Thatcher Noland has boarded the Anticontagion from the port of Boston, Centreville; he will be embark on this voyage alone. The Anticontagion, under command of Capt. Thatcher Noland, has left the harbor at Boston, Centreville. The Anticontagion is heading NW at full-speed.
