The Advection, under command of Capt. Sancho Vaclav, has left the harbor at Clarkston, Centreville. The Advection is heading NW at full-speed. Bear visited his friend Brunhilde Vaclav, who has fallen ill and is likely to die soon; they first met 14 years ago in Clarkston, Centreville. As an act of mutiny, Bear Gilles is going to attempt to murder Capt. Sancho Vaclav, whose decision-making aboard the Advection has been seen by some passengers as reckless and potentially life-endangering. Bear Gilles attempted to murder Capt. Sancho Vaclav as an act of mutiny, but failed. A punishment is now being decided for Bear Gilles and his conspirator in the failed mutiny attempt, Eileen Gilles. The Advection is approaching a desolate island on which the conspirators of the failed mutiny attempt will be marooned. Bear Gilles and Eileen Gilles were marooned on an uninhabited island, which the Advection immediately departed. Bear Gilles and Eileen Gilles divorced after 7 years of marriage; they did not have children together. Bear Gilles and Eileen Gilles decided that Eileen will stay in their formely shared quarters aboard the Advection, and Bear will leave. A newly discovered island is now inhabited by a company of failed mutineers marooned by Capt. Sancho Vaclav of the Advection. They call it Cursed Isle. Bear Gilles now lives among his fellow conspirators in the wilderness of an island they've named Cursed Isle. Bear Gilles is questioning whether they want to continue living after being marooned on such a desolate isle.
