Narrative

179.   The Synarchism was built in Whitehall, Hornbeak, by Geoffrey Gilles. It is the first ship that he has completed.
201.   Whitehall has been annexed by Ashby.
207.   Shorty Zollie is trying to gather up a group of people in Ashby for an expedition on the Synarchism, which Shorty Zollie has agreed to lead. The group about to board the Synarchism has decided that, rather than Shorty Zollie naming himself captain outright, the passengers will decide who their captain will be democratically. Win Aldis's shipmates have decided that he would make the best captain, though Walt Quinn is hurt by the decision. Win Aldis was designated captain of the Synarchism, which will depart Ashby shortly; he has never captained a ship before. Dulcy Zollie, Meridith Quinn, Faydra Gilles, Turner Gilles, Nahum Gilles, Ender Gilles, Lew Gilles, Garp Quinn, Libbie Gilles, Scotty Noland, Shelly Aldis, Welby Aldis, Shorty Zollie, Lark Gilles, Juli Aldis, Marguerite Gilles, Capt. Win Aldis, Yolanthe Aldis, Juli Gilles, Farand Gilles, Hannibal Gilles, Nickie Noland, Juli Gilles, Walt Quinn, Rhodia Quinn, Cybil Quinn, and Rocky Gilles have boarded the Synarchism from the port of Ashby, Hornbeak. The Synarchism, under command of Capt. Win Aldis, has left the harbor at Ashby, Hornbeak. The Synarchism is heading SE at full-speed. As an act of mutiny, Walt Quinn is going to attempt to murder Capt. Win Aldis, whose decision-making aboard the Synarchism has been seen by some passengers as reckless and potentially life-endangering. Walt Quinn attempted to murder Capt. Win Aldis as an act of mutiny, but failed. A punishment is now being decided for Walt Quinn and his conspirators in the failed mutiny attempt: Farand Gilles, Shorty Zollie, Nickie Noland, Ender Gilles, Lark Gilles, Juli Aldis, Scotty Noland, Juli Gilles, Shelly Aldis, Cybil Quinn, Rocky Gilles, and Dulcy Zollie. Since there are no nearby uninhabited islands on which the conspirators could be marooned, they will be hanged aboard the ship. Capt. Win Aldis ordered the hanging of his 36-year-old aunt Farand Gilles at sea aboard the Synarchism as capital punishment for a failed mutiny attempt in which Farand tried to murder Win. Capt. Win Aldis ordered the hanging of 19-year-old Shorty Zollie at sea aboard the Synarchism as capital punishment for a failed mutiny attempt in which Shorty tried to murder Win. This was his second victim. Capt. Win Aldis ordered the hanging of 29-year-old Nickie Noland at sea aboard the Synarchism as capital punishment for a failed mutiny attempt in which Nickie tried to murder Win. This was his third victim. Capt. Win Aldis ordered the hanging of 20-year-old Ender Gilles at sea aboard the Synarchism as capital punishment for a failed mutiny attempt in which Ender tried to murder Win. This was his fifth victim. Capt. Win Aldis ordered the hanging of 35-year-old Walt Quinn at sea aboard the Synarchism as capital punishment for a failed mutiny attempt in which Walt tried to murder Win. This was his sixth victim. Win Aldis ordered the hanging of 42-year-old Juli Gilles at sea aboard the Synarchism as capital punishment for a failed mutiny attempt in which Juli tried to murder Win. This was his ninth victim. Capt. Win Aldis ordered the hanging of 27-year-old Shelly Aldis at sea aboard the Synarchism as capital punishment for a failed mutiny attempt in which Shelly tried to murder Win. This was his tenth victim. Capt. Win Aldis ordered the hanging of 27-year-old Cybil Quinn at sea aboard the Synarchism as capital punishment for a failed mutiny attempt in which Cybil tried to murder Win. This was his eleventh victim. Capt. Win Aldis ordered the hanging of 26-year-old Rocky Gilles at sea aboard the Synarchism as capital punishment for a failed mutiny attempt in which Rocky tried to murder Win. This was his twelth victim. Capt. Win Aldis ordered the hanging of 20-year-old Dulcy Zollie at sea aboard the Synarchism as capital punishment for a failed mutiny attempt in which Dulcy tried to murder Win. 248.   Capt. Win Aldis, who captained the Synarchism from 207 to 208, died in Bell Buckle, Bettles, of natural causes; he was 60 years old.
260.   Zacharie Gilles is trying to gather up a group of people in Bell Buckle for an expedition on the Synarchism, which Zacharie Gilles has agreed to lead. Zacharie Gilles has made it clear that, because it was his decision for the ship to be commandeered, he will serve as its captain. Zacharie Gilles was designated captain of the Synarchism, which will depart Bell Buckle shortly; he has never captained a ship before. Capt. Zacharie Gilles, Wayne Prasun, and Gwenny Prasun have boarded the Synarchism from the port of Bell Buckle, Bettles. The Synarchism, under command of Capt. Zacharie Gilles, has left the harbor at Bell Buckle, Bettles. The Synarchism is heading S at three-quarter speed.
