I lived in Nagoya, Japan from September 2013 to August 2014. I miss the food there! For the longest time I didn't want to bother with sushi in America, but after about a year I decided to give it a try.
Below you can find my reviews of the sushi restaurants I've eaten at in Santa Cruz. They are sorted in the order in which I ate there.
The score of each restaurant is weighted based on what it most important to me in a restaurant. Currently I am a graduate student, so price plays the biggest factors.
Note: "Dank factor" is the flavor and quality of fried foods like tempura rolls, karaage (fried chicken), or tempura. I don't eat this stuff often so it has a low weight in the final score.
