I graduated with Ph.D. degree in Computer Engineering from University of California, Santa Cruz in June 2004 and my PhD dissertation is on Medium Access Control in Ad Hoc Networks with Omni-directional and Directional Antennas which was advised by Professor J. J. Garcia-Luna-Aceves.
Following that, I continued as a postdoctoral researcher with JJ. During that time, I advised some class projects. Please visit Fall 2004 CMPE150 class project and Fall 2004 CMPE252A class project for details. I also gave some lectures for the Wireless and Mobile Networking course co-taught by JJ and Katia in Spring 2005.
Prior to my PhD study at UC Santa Cruz, I received my dual B.Eng. degrees with major in Electronic Engineering and minor in International Accounting from Shanghai Jiaotong University (SJTU) , Shanghai, China, in 1998, and M.Eng. degree in Electrical Engineering from National University of Singapore , Singapore, in 2000.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hacking, badminton and tennis and maintain the web site www.yuonlamp.com which is devoted to web site development with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP/Perl/Python). Please visit my informal webpage for more information.
Now I have started working at Yahoo! Inc. in May 2005.
