About Me

General

Presently, I'm a first year master student in Computer Science at University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC).

I obtained my PhD degree in physics at University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), where I focused on the study of dynamics of electron-molecular collision. After graduation, my research interest shifted to the study of complex systems and I realized the potential of machine learning techniques in revealing the hidden patterns of a complex system, they provide me a new dimension of thinking.

At UCSC, I expect to build a solid back ground in Computer Science, practice my programing skills and get involved in cutting edge researches in this field. I'm also interested in doing internship at a tech-company, I believe this is an important part of my training in Computer Science.

Interests & Passions
  • Reading. Science fictions and fantasy literatures are indispensable parts of my leisure time. No matter bizarre or magnificent, those potentially existing realities they bring to us attract me deeply;
  • Walking alone and reflecting, which could bring me peace (I love the campus of UCSC!);
  • Drawing and cooking. They make my life more diverse and colorful.

Academic Interests

Machine learning theory; The representation, storage and propagation of information in Neural Networks; Applying machine learning in the study of complex physical systems;

I'm also interested in computer vision, natural language processing and the theory of human consciousness;

  1. As an initial attempt, I am working on applying supervised learning in the study of electron-molecule collision dynamics.
