Course Overview

Content

This course will be conducted through a series of lectures and research paper study/presentation. In the first half of the course, the instructor will present lectures and test students on their mastery of the material about halfway through the quarter. A basic programming assignment may be due around the halfway point also. In the second half of the course, students will be reading/presenting research papers, either propose a research topic or select from a list of research topics provided by the instructor. Students are expected to conduct research and write a report by the end of the quarter.

Grading Policies: 1 programming assignment (10%), 1 exam (15%), 1 project (50%), class participation including paper presentations/discussions (25%). There is no final exam.
