• Oct 16, 2017: Prog1 deadline is extended by 24 hours, so is the early submit bonus. That is, if you submit by midnight tonight, you're on time. If you submit by midnight last night, you're early.

• Oct 10, 2017: Lab1 quiz has been graded and recorded.

• Oct 03, 2017: Quiz has been graded and recorded. Results are very disappointing -- average is 82, last year's average was 93.

• Sep 11, 2017: Please note that the TTH lab schedule and locations have changed due to scheduling conflict with our teaching staff. Don't panic. We will sort things out on the first day and try to accommodate everyone.

• Aug 15, 2017: Welcome to CMPS 160/L. If you need permission code, come by the 1st few days of class. I will make every effort to accommodate you, up to the seating capacity of the classroom. Students usually "shop" for classes during the 1st 2 weeks of the quarter and some will decide to drop during this time. Do make sure that you have the prerequisites for the class (linear algebra and programming skills).

  We will have a QUIZ on Oct 02, 2017! It will contain simple questions about Linear Algebra that you should know if you have the pre-requisites for this class. Review matrix and vector operations.

  This is a 7-unit class. The course load is like taking 2 courses. Plan accordingly. CMPS 160 will focus on concepts/algorithm for computer graphics, while CMPS 160L will focus on implementation with WebGL.

  To get a headstart in this class, read up on: (a) HTML, (b) javascript, (c) WebGL, and (d) try to do the 4 lab and 4 programming assignments in the Fall 2016 offering of this class. Problems are accessible from: https://users.soe.ucsc.edu/~pang/160/f16/

  At the end of the quarter, to demonstrate mastery of the course materials, you should be able to write a program that can render objects with proper lighting and shading, and allow users to manipulate objects and camera.
