AMS 005 – Summer II 2008
NEWS:
9-2: Our grader has not graded some of the homeworks
#5. Bruno looked at them carefully and found out that only 2 final grades
depended on the homework 5 scores. The list below contains already these changes.
These grades will be permanent by tonight 10pm.
9-1: Final course scores and grades are shown below. I want to
congratulate everyone for the effort they made, you made your first steps in
understanding what mathematics does and how to think in a mathematical way. The
ones that, unfortunately, didn’t do so well: you have fantastic
mathematical abilities (really, I could see that in your tests), you just need
to tweak a little bit the way you prepare for the tests.
Note:
if you find a score that doesn’t seem right, please let me know.
I’ll be in my office tomorrow between 5 and 6pm if you want to have a
look at your final exam.
9-1: Final exam scores are shown
below. We’re working on the final scores for the course and we hope to
post it still today.
8-18: Don’t forget to bring the
smallest bag of peanut M&M’s for tomorrow’s class. If you
can’t or don’t want to buy one, you don’t have to.
8-18:
Midterm scores are available below. Overall the class is doing excellently;
everyone is starting to think in a statistical way about every day problems;
although I would advise students with a score lower than 70% and who
don’t go to class or office hours to review their strategy. Anyone can
have a look at his/her test during office hours.
8:13: Tomorrow’s office hours
will start earlier (at 3:30pm) to help students with questions about the
midterm.
8-12: Calendar of class and homework
lists have been changed. Check the new calendar and
homework list below.
8-11: Tomorrow office hours will start
at 3pm for extra help with the midterm.
8-8:
Midterm is available below.
8-5: Practice midterm is available
below.
7-10: WELCOME TO AMS5- Statistics. There’s
already a lot of information about the course below.
