I received my B.Sc. from the
University of Tehran in 2002 and my M.Sc. from the
San Jose State University in 2004 both in Electrical Engineering. Since 2005 I have been working toward my Ph.D. degree at the
CCRG lab under the supervision of Professor
JJ Garcia-Luna-Aceves in the department of Computer Engineering at the University of California Santa Cruz. My research and industry experience expands
Across wireless communication system layers, from physical layer optimization algorithm design and implementation for OFDM/OFDMA and MIMO to MAC layer protocol modeling and development for ad hoc network. I have been closely monitoring standards and had worked on protocols based on IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n, IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX), and DVB-T/H.
I have received several honors including Regent fellowship at
the University of California, contributed to the book titled "Computer and
Communication Networks" written by Professor Nader Mir, and have served as a
reviewer for several conferences and journals.
Research Interests:
- Wireless communication protocols and algorithms
- Wireless ad hoc networks
- Medium access and cross-layer protocols
- Wireless system design
- MIMO systems and diversity techniques
- OFDM/OFDMA
