Bioinformatics Research Seminar
This course is a weekly research seminar that assumes that students
have already taken CMPS 243 (Bioinformatics) or have substantial
background in biology, chemistry, or statistics.
The intent is to offer the seminar every quarter, with different
faculty each time.
When Kevin Karplus leads the seminar, the seminar will be
primarily students presenting their own recent research. Under Todd
Lowe, the seminar is usually a journal club, in which students
take turns presenting papers from the literature.
When David Haussler leads the seminar, it will be mainly
presentations of original research, both by UCSC researchers and by
vistors.
Note: while we expect to have all three styles each year, who does
which style may vary from year to year.
