Advisor: Dr. Ying Wang

Mechatronics Robotic Research Group

+ Visual Servoing, Team Leader

Application of Advanced Control Theory to Mobile Robot Control and Visual Servoing

Using State Variable Modeling, develop a visual controller for a Mobilerobot`s Pioneer P3-DX wheeled mobile robot and 5-DOF end effector. Then the use of Q-learning will be applied to autonomously determine the most desirable location for the robot`s gripper in order to pick up various objects.

+ Computer Vision

A Comparison of SIFT and SURF Visual SLAM Algorithms for a Mobile Robot

Using known SIFT and SURF Visual SLAM algorithms to compare their performance in unknown and dynamic path following scenarios for a wheeled mobile robot.

Georgia Institute of Technology; Atlanta, GA 06/2010 - 07/2010

Advisor: Dr. Ying Zhang

CREATE Program, Electrical Engineering REU

Hybrid Energy Storage Systems for Self-Powered Wireless Sensor Networks

To develop a theoretical model of a supercapacitor that will take into account variations in current supply and ambient temperature. This model will be used in the development of hybrid storage systems implemented in energy harvesting wireless nodes.
