I'm Aleatha. I'm a second year year Ph.D. student studying information retrieval under Ethan Miller at UC Santa Cruz. I also received my my B.S. in Computer Science from UC Santa Cruz in 2008, with honors in the major.

In addition to information retrieval, I'm interested in natural language processing, computational linguistics, and cognitive science, especially as all of the above relate to spatial metaphors and word affinity across multiple human languages. I currently have an Erdös number of 4. I think the world should be a more interesting, useful, user-friendly place, and that Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval are key aspects of making that happen.
