I am organizing, along with Bruno Sanso and Yuefeng (Tom) Wu, a conference on Model Uncertainty and Multiplicity between July 23 and July 27, 2012. The conference, which in reality is closer to a summer school, is being organized thanks to funding from the Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences and the National Science Foundation. The main speaker will be Professor James O. Berger from Duke University, and there will also be presentations from Brad Efron, Susie Bayarri and Marc Suchard.

Organizing the SBIES 2012

I will be organizing the Seminar in Bayesian Inference in Econometrics and Statistics (SBIES) at UCSC on April 27 and 28. The conference has a distinguished history, having been established in 1970 by the late Arnold Zellner. Since 2004, it has been held annually at a number of alternative locations including the University of Chicago, Washington University in St. Louis and the University of Texas at Austin. This year SBIES is being supported by the Sury Initiative for Global Finance and International Risk Management (SIGFIRM), the National Bureau of Economic Research, and the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics.

I just received notice that my tenure review was successful!! Starting July 1st, I am an Associate Professor at UCSC.

I will be visiting Mexico between June 24 and July 8 to attend the eight Workshop on Bayesian nonparametric methods (BNP2011) (where I will be giving an invited talk) and the Taller Mexicano de Estadistica Bayesiana (TAMEB) (where I will be teaching one of the short courses).

Brazil ....

I will be visiting Brazil between March 10 and April 4. First, I will be attending the XII Escola de Modelos de Regressao in Fortaleza (http://www.emr12.ufc.br/), and then I will be staying in Rio de Janeiro, where I will be teaching a short course on Bayesian nonparametric statistics.
